The idea was formed and immediately implemented during the television special 'Schlaag den Raab' in which a contestant challenges the well known TV moderater Stefan Raab to a series of activities. As a result of one of the challenges, a webpage was created to test and track the curiosity of web users. This is the first ever website dedicated to Lorem Ipsum and was created as a demonstration project for students while teaching web design at the FH Wiesbaden, Germany. Since the launch in 2001 many other sites have sprung up copying loremipsum.de. The website clocks over 13,000 visitors each month, mostly from designers who are quickly grabbing the lorem ipsum - blind text to use in their design layouts. An interesting fact is that on weekends there are few visits, first on Monday's the visits jumpback to around 500 visits a day.
